material for public display. Please read this information carefully, and contact us with any
questions before submitting your contribution.Copyright Protection
The Milwaukee Road Trail recognizes the owner’s copyrights
and does not assume those rights when displaying the material publicly. The
owner always retains their legal privileges, in full.
Ownership
Please submit only those materials that you legally own.
Edits and Alterations
At times it will be necessary to alter the material for
display. Text may need minor edits (punctuation, spelling, or formatting). Every
effort will be made to retain the material in its state at the time of
submission, while keeping in alignment with the TMRT style guides and policies
in place.
Images
In order to allow viewers with varying system capabilities
access the site without problems, we limit the image size to pixels of 400x300,
(roughly 4”x3”). Larger images will be electronically reformatted, though the
original submission is retained on file, should it become possible to use it in
its original state, later. Images will be labeled with the contributor’s name,
if the size allows. If it does not, the image properties are labeled with the
contributor’s name.
Permissions
By submitting your material to The Milwaukee Road Trail,
you must state you are granting permission to display the material publicly,
according to the information provided in this document. If you are submitting
information that includes the name of a living (not deceased) person, please
make sure the person approves of your using his or her name.
Credits
Contributions accepted for display are attributed to the
contributor/owner. The contributor’s name (as provided in the submission) is
displayed on TMRT’s Contributor’s page.
Anonymity
If the contributor wishes to remain anonymous, the name
will not be publicly displayed. If you wish to remain anonymous, please inform
TMRT at the time of submission.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions must be accompanied with the contributor’s
name and contact information, and a statement that you are granting permission
for TMRT to display the material publicly. In order to understand where on the
site the material is best displayed, we appreciate receiving as much information
about the material as possible (such as its date and location of origin,
surrounding circumstances, etc.). If you have recommendations regarding where
the material is best displayed, we will be happy to consider the recommendation.
In order to protect the credibility of the site for all
users, please provide only factual (nonfiction) text.
Electronic Submissions
Electronic submissions are preferred because they can be
processed faster. When your material is available electronically, please email
it to
info@themilwaukeeroadtrail.org.
Non-Electronic Submissions
Please do not send your original materials. Copy your
material and send the copy to: The Milwaukee Road Trail, 7312 NE 143rd
St., Kenmore, WA 98028. Be sure to include sufficient postage.
